Along with Negativland and Mr. Fernandinande Lemur, a primary influence of norelpref has been the work of Phineas Narco and the National Cynical Network. I lurked for years listening to Midnight Voice Jail and other NCN productions before finally becoming inspired to begin creating my own sound collage experiments.
